Strong schools are built through collaboration, not conflict. As an educator, researcher, and current Rochester Community Schools trustee, I bring a perspective shaped by decades of working at the intersection of K–12 and higher education. Throughout my career, I have built bridges between schools and universities, research and practice, and people with diverse perspectives to strengthen learning and expand opportunity. I want to continue serving as that bridge for our district, helping prepare students not only for college and careers, but also for thoughtful citizenship.
Our community deserves leadership that listens carefully, values evidence, and approaches challenges with curiosity, respect, and a commitment to finding common ground. Rather than starting over, I want to build on the strong foundation already in place by working alongside educators, families, students, and community members to develop creative, collaborative, and credible solutions that keep student success at the center of every decision.
I see public service as stewardship: honoring what works, addressing challenges with integrity, and helping our district move forward together.
Support data-informed decision making, responsible fiscal management, strategic planning, and regular evaluation of district initiatives. Ensure resources are invested where they have the greatest impact on student learning and well-being.
Strengthen partnerships among families, educators, students, higher education, and the broader community. Foster respectful dialogue, increase opportunities for stakeholder engagement, and create meaningful ways for students to contribute to the life and stewardship of their schools.
Expand opportunities that prepare students for college, careers, and civic life through strong literacy, future-ready skills, and meaningful learning experiences. Support initiatives that strengthen data literacy, responsible AI literacy, critical thinking, and authentic connections between K–12 education and higher education.
